One of constant irritants of Companies that I support is untrained, inexperienced managers.
A specific client was unsure why their relatively new manager did not seem to be performing but in his previous role he performed well.
After investigation, and our joint investigation , number of issues were highlighted associated with the Manager and their team.
There was a high level of sickness coupled with retention issues – and there was a lack of motivation and morale.
After reviewing the exit interview feedback, many individuals cited the Manager as their reason for leaving.
This highlighted there was an urgent need to support the manager with training and development in the following areas:
- Communication
- Management Skills
- HR understanding
After developing a tailored plan to suit the individual and with ongoing support from Heartbeat HR, many improvements in the managers performance were observed.
