Everyone likes a positive outcome!
Six months ago, I started working with a CEO of a business.
They had been operating for five years, and the company and its team had grown significantly.
As the team was small in the early days, the CEO had many hats, including HR.
As they had grown, she realized there were more challenges when it came to the team.
We had an initial meeting and I was able to identify some key themes:
The culture was confused.
People didn’t know or understand their roles.
Lack of manager guidance and support.
There were no formalized processes, such as reviews, training, and development plans.
No formalized communication channels.
I recommended that the first stage was to carry out an employee survey to gain the team’s views.
With this, we would be able to see if what we had identified was what the team thought.
I then developed a programme that I have been running from the survey results ever since.
In terms of progress, the CEO gave me her feedback recently.
“I have certainly seen a shift in our business in the last six months.
We now have a highly motivated team that has embraced the change.
Performance for the last six months has been at an all-time high, and we have individuals asking to work with us.
Heather has supported us with enthusiasm and determination, and without her, we would not be where we are today. She has made the difference that we needed.
Thank you, Heather – you are a star!”
It is always great to get feedback, especially when you see the results of your work before you.
