Does money make the world go round?
When applying for jobs, salary is no longer the only factor to consider when being attracted to a job.
While incentives used to be limited to popular perks such as stock options and healthcare, candidates are now looking for a broader range of benefits.
One of the main things that individuals are looking for is hybrid/remote working opportunities.
Nearly three-quarters of vacancies are still not offering hybrid/remote working, recent research has found.
This is despite the wholesale changes to working practices caused by the pandemic over the last two years.
Timewise found just 26% of UK job vacancies advertised some form of flexible working such as remote working, home working or part-time hours – an increase of just 4% since 2020.
In my opinion, this is a huge missed opportunity for UK businesses, especially given the record number of vacancies in the current labour market.
I believe businesses need to think differently if they want to attract and retain key talent.
