HR Grapevine have reported,The Head of Amazon Studios has resigned, following allegations of sexual harassment.
Roy Price, who was placed on indefinite leave after being embroiled in the Weinstein scandal, has left Amazon – The Daily Mail reports. Two allegations were made involving Price, the first of which came from Actress, Rose McGowan who wrote on Twitter that Price discredited her rape claims when she advised him against bailing out Weinstein. She claims that Price then killed her project which she was developing with the company.
The second claim came from lesbian producer Isa Hackett, who said that Price made several inappropriate remarks, alleging that at one point he told her: “You will love my d***”. Hackett, the daughter of famed author Philip K. Dick, claims that she told Amazon executives what happened immediately afterwards, and since, she has never seen Price at any of her events. She went on to say that she believes there was some sort of investigation but is unsure of the final outcome.
The sudden outpouring of revelations of sexual harassment come after Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been accused of the misdemeanours. Speaking exclusively to Executive Grapevine, Rachel Suff, Public Policy Advisor at Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, explained that workplace allegations, of any type, should never be dismissed. She tells us: “Organisations should treat any form of alleged harassment seriously, not just because of the legal implications and because it can lead to under-performance, but also because people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect at work.”
