Rebecca Welch became the first female to be appointed referee for a football league match.
She referreed a league two match between Harrogate Town and Port Vale.
So how is that possible, that it has taken until 2021 for a woman to be allowed to referee a men’s match!
Of course, it may be down to ability and being in the right place at the right time!
